The Tea Screen Lamp is a light sculpture exploring the cultural and artistic nature of room dividers as a means to tell stories and embody poetry. Three paper illuminations are captured within frames, spanning three panels in a triptych about form studies and the designer’s process to create new shapes out of familiar bodies. Like brushing a calligraphy painting with light, the sculpture personifies mark-making to new dimensions in this playful take on tradition.

Made with Black walnut burl, Japanese kozo paper, concrete, and brass.
3-panel configuration. Each panel is modular for any configuration order and can be plugged in from either the left or right side. When assembled, the screen tri-folds up to 35 degrees.
